Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her music online including her independent single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. Later in the year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. On December 8 it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, 13, she released two additional singles entitled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and she released the song in a solo version on her debut album. This track, which was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
